Listen To: Taking the Enneagram to Work

Show Notes:

If you happen to be a business owner, ministry leader, or you even work with others in a nonprofit or corporation of any sort, I have a few questions for you! Do you wish there was a tool that could help you communicate more effectively? How about a resource to get your team to give and receive meaningful feedback? How about something that would help you resolve or even avoid conflict? Because I've worked in nonprofits, big corporations, been a ministry leader, and am now a business owner. I'm guessing you would jump at the chance to get your hand on a resource that would help your team be more productive and successful while also experiencing team unity.

According to polls in 2022, 85% of people were dissatisfied with their work and at their work, 60% reported being emotionally detached, and 19% reported being miserable. Of course, startling stats like this indicate low morale, poor job performance, and a lack of engagement. Friend, I don't think it has to stay this way. In fact, I know it's possible to love what you do, enjoy the people you work with, and experience unity that comes with shared vision and values.

[3:12] Amy welcomes us to the fictional corporation of "Hustle and Grind" where we're introduced to Emily, a well-intentioned HR manager who has stumbled upon the fascinating world of the Enneagram. She's eager to improve workplace dynamics, and of course, provide unity, clarity, and joy. Amy walks us through Emily's over eager approach to implementing the Enneagram at work and how it was a total failure.

[6:32] Amy talks about her experiences working with large corporations on implementing the Enneagram and being their guide by the side to create a wholehearted leadership and development course. When a skilled and trained guide is invited to present and teach the Enneagram for business development, the entire group experienced transformation that does lead to unity and clarity. Friend, the Enneagram is deep and wide, so without skilled guidance, it can quickly be turned into a tool that is more of a sword or a shield than a resource that gives the team victory.

[8:20] Amy shares the benefits of having a trained facilitator to help you implement the Enneagram in the workplace.

  • Everyone can share a common language, and this common language helps to bring equality and unity with the team.
  • It can help you overcome communication challenges.
  • It can help a team know how to execute meaningful feedback and also how to receive it as well.
  • Utilizes engaging team activities.

[14:07] Whether you are the leader of an organization or find yourself in a critical role of influence, the Enneagram can benefit you personally and your team. The wholehearted leadership and development material can be utilized with teams of various sizes and knowledge of the Enneagram.

The best is yet to come,
